Frequently asked questions
The questions businesses most often ask before starting to work with Five Star.
General questions
Typically in four steps: an initial conversation about your needs, a review of your existing records, a proposal setting out scope and fees, then signing the service contract and starting work. The first conversation is free of charge.
Fees depend on the scope of work, transaction volume and the complexity of your business. Five Star quotes specifically after reviewing your current position; we do not apply one standard fee to every case.
Yes. Most of the work is carried out through an agreed online channel. In-person meetings are arranged where needed, as set out in the service contract.
Accounting
Five Star reviews the state of your existing books and records, prepares a handover checklist and identifies what needs resolving before taking over. Switching is best done at the end of an accounting period to limit disruption.
Yes. Five Star assesses the extent of the backlog and proposes a separate scope to clear it. This is usually treated as its own piece of work, completed before routine services begin.
Tax
We help review and prepare the requested files, advise on how to handle items carrying risk, and work alongside your team in meetings and explanations with the inspection team, within the scope of a written authorisation.
Labour
Broadly: employment contracts and annexes, personal files, social insurance registration and participation records, payroll, and internal documents such as labour rules and the salary scale. The detailed list depends on your size and sector.
Service contract
For recurring services such as accounting, tax or payroll, contracts normally follow the financial year. For project work such as tax finalisation advisory or financial planning, the contract covers that specific scope.
Each party's responsibilities are set out in the service contract, including how errors attributable to Five Star are handled. This is discussed openly before signing.
Information security
A confidentiality agreement is signed before work begins. Data is handled only by the staff assigned to your account and exchanged through an access-controlled channel. Payroll and other sensitive data are restricted to an even narrower group.
